1000km for Heidi by TaraD

Well we kicked of June with a 1000km, yes that is correct a ONE THOUSAND KM challenge to walk from Kerry to Manchester

AND back in 30 days for Heidi.

Some of you may remember and some of you may have bought tickets to join us for our mother’s day event that unfortunately we had to cancel. (If you bought tickets please check your email for further info).

The event was to raise much needed funds for Heidi Patterson who has Cerebral Palsy. Heidi is almost 3 years old and the daughter of one of our couples from 2015.

We have spent months trying to come up with alternative ideas within these current restrictions it has been difficult. But I got this mad notion to go walking and for me it has always been go big or go home” so I thought lets blow it out of the water with a big challenge like this.

I asked the team who were organising the mothers day event with me, Diana, Siobhain, Dave and Romy (who is one of our 2021 brides got roped in to this too lol) and they all said YES!

We started on Monday (June 1st) and have already walked 125km so the team are smashing it. I need to get creative and figure out away to get the children walking, walks with them are at a snails pace (enjoying the surroundings which is fantastic!) but it doesn’t clock up many km’s! Maybe I could velcro them to the wall so they would still be in the same spot when I got back from extra walks? (Just kidding!). But I would like to catch up with the rest of team who are doubling my daily km’s so far this week!

When we announced the idea on Sunday so many people contacted me to ask if they could join in with us. We now have people walking throughout Ireland, the U.K and as far away as AUSTRALIA! We wanted to keep the challenge of 1000km as a team and if we split that between more people it would make it much less of a challenge. So we have asked those who are happy to “walk with us”, to set their own km target for the month and raise some sponsorship if possible and

donate to Heidi’s go fund me page here…

We will then see “how far” we have walked collectively as a group and hopefully we can reach our €5,000 target!

This also means that people can join in from anywhere in the world and set any km target that works for them. So if you are interested in joining please let us know!

We are using the hashtag #1000kmforheidi or #walkforheidi

Hope you can join us!

Hello readers! by TaraD

My name is Diana Ascenso (my friends call me Di) and I’m the new member on Tara and Dave’s team.

We’ve only been working together for a few weeks and so far it’s been quite amazing and lots of fun!
Sometimes we work together and sometimes we each work individually which makes for great work / life balance and makes Tara and Dave the best bosses ever!
I moved here from New York where I have been working in the fashion and graphic design industries for the last 20 years. I then qualified in Photography and now I combine all my skills to create one-of-a-kind products for Tara and Dave.
Besides acting as a second shooter when it’s very busy, I also work on designing one-of-a-kind wedding albums for all of you beautiful couples out there.

By now I feel like I have got to know many of you through the amazing wedding photos. I am looking forward to working with more clients in person, as we develop our plans here and that will help me to further personalise your albums.

Until then I will be keeping  you posted with our adventures! There is a very exciting and busy summer ahead!

Dunloe Hotel & Gardens by TaraD

The Dunloe Hotel and Gardens is set in a 64 acre estate, overlooking the beautiful Gap of Dunloe in Co. Kerry.

After its recent renovation, we had the pleasure of spending a day at the hotel, creating and directing a Wedding Inspirational Photoshoot which has since been featured in the Wedding Journal Magazine.

Our inspiration was led largely by the venue, the modern, yet sophisticated edge that it has. We co ordinated with suppliers who think outside the box, creating something different while still appealing to a wide range of brides.

We were delighted to work with some fantastic local suppliers such as Cathy Troth, who designed all the incredible headpieces for our models. I have had the pleasure of knowing Cathy even before her business began. She is an incredible artist who pays close attention to her clients needs and is able to create something special from the most random of starting points! It is inspiring to watch. So if you need a headpiece for a wedding or an event I would suggest that you give her a call!

Suzanne from Designer flowers by Kerry Wedding Flowers, who created the amazing floral bouquets! I mean have any of you ever seen something so different? WOW!

Tricia from Tricia O Sullivan hair and beauty http://kerryhairdresser.ie can literally do hair with her eyes closed. Her talents never cease to amaze me!

Likewise with Georgina who works her magic as a make up artist, you can see more of her work here https://georginamackessymakeup.com

They are a great team to work with and I always recommend them for wedding days as you need experienced, talented suppliers to make your day run smoothly!

The dresses were all supplied by Laura Kate’s Bridal boutique and I have honestly never seen such beautiful gowns before.

Our two amazing models Savannagh and Sarah Jane from the Norma O Donoghue model agency, showed all of our work with glamour and grace.

Thank you to all of you involved and a special thank you to the staff and management at The Dunloe for supporting our creativity and letting us explore the amazing setting that is ideal for any wedding day.

I hope some of our ideas, have given you ideas for your special day!

If you would like to see some of our real weddings at The Dunloe please contact us!
