MAKE YOUR WEDDING POP! by TaraD

Since today is Popcorn Lovers Day, popcorn is such a popular loved snack, it is associated with fun times like birthday parties or trips to the cinema. Why not make it a fun part of your big day, whether you and your partner are movie fans or just want to add something quirky to your day, here are some ideas to include this delicious food at your wedding!!

Start your wedding with something different.

Instead of the usual biscuits and sandwiches for your wedding guests at the drinks reception, make it fun and special and have popcorn at the ready for your guests to enjoy! Popcorn and champagne tastes great together!!

Have it in cute little bags or paper cones that the guests can have.

Wedding favours

A really lovely simple idea for this is to get some empty jam jars and fill them with popcorn kernels, seal the jar and wrap a tag around the top saying ‘Thanks for making our day pop!’

Wedding cake

Who doesn’t love popcorn and chocolate?! Why not go for something different for you wedding and make it memorable with a unique cake! Show off your adventurous side with a salted caramel sponge and popcorn on top… delicious!!

Make it fun

Hire a popcorn making machine and add some carnival fun to your wedding, the smell alone will have everyone in good spirits!! Kids at the wedding will love it too.

Go poppers!!

Have a popcorn station set up for the late night snacks of all different types of popcorn, different flavors and colours,

everyone loves a midnight snack of popcorn!!

These are just some ideas of how to incorporate popcorn into your wedding day, get thinking its amazing what you could

come up with!

Kerry Wedding Show 2017 by TaraD

Recently I had the good fortune of attending the Kerry Wedding Show 2017, even though my bridal shopping days are over!! I had a great day out helping couples on the day, talking them through our photography packages here at Tara Donoghue Photography. I was very impressed by the layout of the stalls and of the effort all the suppliers put into making them stand out.  I found myself trying to plan a party for the future just to avail of the brilliant ideas and eat the delicious cakes that were displayed! 🙂

What I really loved about this fair was the open area that it was held in, the INEC proved to be a great spacious area where there was even enough room to hold a fashion show!! Norma O Donoghue put together a great collection of bridal wear and together with the music and lighting, it really was a show stopper!

This year there were 81 stalls at the wedding show. Upstairs there were performances from wedding singers and bands which added an extra element of fun to the day! I really enjoyed  the variety of stalls, and the unique ideas they had, the prosecco cart was mouth watering!!

There were a variety of suppliers offering everything you could need to make your wedding day special! From hotels to photographers and everything you could want in between it was a day for every wedding couple to enjoy!

To top off the day Aine Clifford, a bride to be, won the fabulous prize we organised worth over €2,500 which the following suppliers were part of:

Tara Donoghue Photography

Flowers from Tie the knot weddings

Brides of Kerry Wedding Spread

Headpieces by Cathy Troth

All you need is love stationary suite

Thanks for a great day and I am looking forward to next year already 😀

Welcoming Adeline to the team! :) by TaraD

Hi everyone,

I’m Adeline and I have just started working for Tara Donoghue photography! I’m so excited to be part of this creative team.
So far so good, with coffee on tap thanks to Dave.
Between dogs, cats, chickens, bees, Cailean, brides, grooms, new-borns and boudoir shoots no two days are ever the same so there’s no chance of me getting bored. I will be keeping all of you up to date on the mad happenings in the photography world of Tara and Dave.

Being a newlywed myself I can understand the pressure and fun that comes with planning a wedding and hopefully be able to share some tips and helpful hints which I learned along the way to ensure you all have as perfect a day as I had (well I thought it was and that’s all that matters).

Over the next while I hope to get to know some of you well and the ones I don’t I hope you will gain something from my ramblings.

Watch this space for the latest promotions and offers.
Talk soon,
Adeline x
