Shoot for the stars!

Well the summer is absolutely flying by and it almost feels like it was January just yesterday!

Wedding season is manic (just the way we like it!). But last night we took a little break and headed off to Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve that we are blessed to have so nearby.

Did you know that it is  “the only GOLD TIER Reserve in the Northern Hemisphere” according to Kerrydarksky.com. That is an incredible accolade for Co. Kerry and Ireland!

So we headed off to meet a fab bunch of photographers (who for some reason keep signing up to do more of our courses!). They are glutons for punishment LOL. The brief last night was that they were interested in capturing the beauty of the night sky.

We took a gamble on the weather (which paid off) and with flasks and sugary snacks at the ready, we passed the time waiting for “some stars”.

Close to midnight the clouds parted and we were watching an AMAZING show of shooting stars and the whole sky was simply breathtaking. It was a night I honestly won’t forget and I can’t wait to go back again and camp out for the night (like some of our students decided to do!). I think Dave is already planning the next trip!
